Eating my own dog food
I recently looked at refer.ly as a possible traffic source for the company I work for.
Refer.ly is a product that aims to make affiliate marketing as easy and accessible as sharing a bit.ly link. The founder’s vision is that people should be rewarded for sharing the things they love, and that businesses get to leverage one of their best assets: happy customers.
I originally visited the site just intending to vet it as a traffic source for us, but was intrigued by the concept. I wondered what it would be like to BE one of the people referring traffic, having been on the receiving end now for some time.
So I signed up, and am going to be testing it for the next month. But I wanted to do it fully transparently, to let you all know what’s up. I’ll share my experience (the first link I shared felt, well, uncomfortable). Please also let me know your thoughts/experiences on your side.
